Project Life – a Crafty Way to Capture Memories

Whilst perusing my  old house-mate Sarah’s blog I came across Project Life. I had never heard of it before and asked her to tell me more about it.

So in today’s post Sarah shares her passion for Project Life.

Linda

I am so happy that Linda has asked me to write a guest post about Project Life. For those of you who are not familiar with the concept, Project Life (PL) is the brainchild of Becky Higgins and is, in her words, a ‘back-to-basics approach to memory keeping’. It has its roots in scrapbooking but it is not like any scrapbooking you have ever seen. You don’t need glue, scissors, hundreds of pieces of paper, stickers etc (unless that is how YOU want to do it). All you need are some plastic page protectors, some journaling cards (available either digitally or ‘real’) and photographs of your life.

The beauty of PL is that it can really be whatever you want it to be. Many people including myself choose to combine it with a ‘Project 365’ concept of a photo-a-day, and so document their life in that way. Others document a week or month at a time. Choose what works for you based on how much time you want to spend and what you want the end result to be.

I have just given you a really brief overview but there is a huge amount of information and inspiration available on the web. Your first stop should be Becky Higgin’s site

Once you have been to Becky’s site, check out these other great sources of inspiration:

And to see how a non-celebrity scrapbooker is doing PL, check out my blog Documenting Chaos

Thanks for reading, and thanks again to my dear friend Linda for asking me to write this post for her fabulous blog!
